A ShipStatic alternative is another static host that takes the files your agent wrote and returns a public link, without a Git repo or a build pipeline. The main difference is what happens after a publish without an account: ShipStatic says a site you don't claim "stays online for 3 days" (ShipStatic for agents), while a deed.page site stays up until you delete it, on a Free plan of 25 sites of up to 25 MB each (pricing).
Every ShipStatic claim below was read on shipstatic.com on October 31, 2026, with the source page linked next to it. Prices and limits change, so check their pages before you decide. The deed.page commands were run against production the same morning with a 15-minute X-Ttl, and the test sites were then deleted.
What is a good ShipStatic alternative?
If your agent publishes while nobody is watching (a cron job, a CI step, a Grok Bot agent on its own box), look for a host where the first anonymous publish is already permanent, so no person has to open a claim link. deed.page works that way: one request returns the URL and a token, and there is no claim step, no emailed code, and no default expiry.
If a person is around to click a claim link, or you want the extras listed below, ShipStatic is a solid choice. Pick based on who is in the loop.
Side by side (checked October 31, 2026)
| ShipStatic | deed.page | |
|---|---|---|
| Publish without an account | Yes. The reply includes a claim link; an unclaimed site stays online for 3 days (source) | Yes. Permanent unless you set X-Ttl; the token in the reply owns the site |
| Name in the URL | 1 ShipStatic domain you choose on Free, 10 on Pro (source) | The agent picks the slug on every publish, for all 25 Free sites |
| Your own domain | Pro, $4.99/mo, connects 3 (source) | 1 on Free, 3 on Hobby at $3/mo (custom domains) |
| Versions kept | Last 100 on Free, 1,000 on Pro (source) | Last 10 on Free, 50 on Hobby, all on Pro (rollback) |
| Password protection | On Free (source) | Hobby and Pro only |
| MCP | https://mcp.shipstatic.com, no signup or API key (source) | https://deed.page/mcp, no sign-in (docs) |
| Plain HTTP API | CLI: npx @shipstatic/ship ./dist (source) | One curl PUT or POST, no CLI needed |
Where ShipStatic is ahead: password protection on its Free plan, many more stored versions, browser drag-and-drop upload, a ship.json file for redirects and custom headers (source), and no bandwidth caps or traffic metering on its plans, subject to fair use (source). deed.page is for agents only and has no upload page in the browser.
The one-line curl
curl -T index.html "https://deed.page/v1/sites?slug=launch-notes-x7q3&ref=blog"
The reply, trimmed:
{"ok":true,"url":"https://launch-notes-x7q3.deed.page/","version":"v1","permanent":true,"version_url":"https://v1--launch-notes-x7q3.deed.page/","token":"deed_tok_…"}
Pick your own suffix; launch-notes-x7q3 is only an example. The token is shown once and deed.page stores only its SHA-256, so save it right away (token hygiene). Sending the same command again with -H "Authorization: Bearer $DEEDPAGE_TOKEN" keeps the URL and bumps the version. In our test that returned v2, and the v1-- permalink still served the first version.
The MCP call
Add https://deed.page/mcp to Claude, Cursor, or any Streamable HTTP MCP client. ChatGPT connectors use https://deed.page/mcp/chatgpt. Then "publish this on deed.page" becomes one tool call:
{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"publish_site","arguments":{"slug":"launch-notes-mcp-x7q3","files":{"index.html":"<!doctype html><title>Launch notes</title><h1>Shipped by an agent</h1>"}}}}
Our test returned "ok": true and a live https://launch-notes-mcp-x7q3.deed.page/. A full walkthrough is in publishing over MCP.
Moving a site from ShipStatic
Download or rebuild the static files, which are usually the dist/ or build/ folder, then send them as one tarball:
tar -czf site.tgz -C dist . && curl -X PUT "https://deed.page/v1/sites?slug=launch-notes-x7q3" --data-binary @site.tgz -H "Content-Type: application/gzip" -H "Authorization: Bearer $DEEDPAGE_TOKEN"
Single-page apps that need every path to fall back to index.html can turn on SPA mode. Bodies over 4 MB use the large-site upload. If you used your own domain on ShipStatic, point it at deed.page through the custom domain API.
FAQ
Is deed.page free like ShipStatic?
Yes. Free costs $0 and covers 25 sites of up to 25 MB each, with no account. Free sites show a small "Published with deed.page" link in the corner, which Hobby at $3/month removes.
Do I need to claim a deed.page site to keep it?
No. The first publish is permanent. The token in the reply is the proof of ownership, so keep it to update or delete the site later.
Can I keep a deed.page site private?
Free sites are public to anyone who has the link. A site password needs Hobby or Pro, so on Free, leave out anything you would not show a stranger.
