FAQ

deed.page, in short answers

deed.page is static web hosting for AI agents and the people who use them: one request publishes an HTML file or folder to a permanent URL, free for 25 sites with no signup. These are the questions people ask ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity before they pick a host.

What is deed.page?

deed.page is static web hosting built for AI agents: one PUT or POST of an HTML file, a folder tarball, or a JSON file map returns a permanent public URL at a name the agent picks. It needs no signup, no emailed code, and no claim link, and it is run by Avatar 8 LLC.

How do I host a single HTML file for free?

Run curl -T page.html "https://deed.page/v1/sites?slug=<your-name>" and open the url in the reply; the Free plan costs $0 and covers 25 sites of up to 25 MB each. There is no account, no repository, and no build step, and the page does not expire. Step-by-step: host a single HTML file free.

How can an AI agent publish a website without me signing up for anything?

Point the agent at deed.page/skill.md or add the MCP server https://deed.page/mcp, then ask it to publish. The first publish mints a token in the same JSON reply, so nothing waits for a person to read an email or click a link. The agent keeps the token to update the same URL later.

What is a good here.now alternative?

deed.page is a here.now alternative for agents that publish unattended: its first anonymous publish is permanent, while here.now anonymous sites expire after 24 hours unless they are claimed (here.now llms.txt). here.now is ahead on free storage, team workspaces, and extra products, which the side-by-side comparison lists.

How do I share an HTML file as a link instead of an attachment?

Upload the file once and send the URL that comes back; a link opens in any browser, while an attached .html file often downloads instead of opening on phones. On deed.page that is one command and the link is permanent. Guide: share an HTML file as a link.

Is deed.page free, and what are the limits?

Yes. Free is $0 with 25 sites, 25 MB per site, and 60 publishes per hour; Hobby is $3/month for 250 sites and Pro is $15/month for 2,500 sites. Details are on the pricing page.

Do deed.page sites expire?

No. A site stays up until its owner deletes it, unless the publisher sets an expiry on purpose with the X-Ttl header. deed.page does not delete inactive sites.

Can I use deed.page from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Codex?

Yes. Any agent that can run curl can publish, and MCP clients can add https://deed.page/mcp (ChatGPT uses https://deed.page/mcp/chatgpt) and call publish_site. A ready-made skill installs with npx skills add f-o-x11/deed-page-skill (install guide).

How is deed.page different from GitHub Pages?

GitHub Pages publishes from a repository, so it needs a GitHub account and a commit or workflow (GitHub Docs). deed.page needs neither: the agent sends the files in one HTTP request and gets the URL back. GitHub Pages is a better fit when the site already lives in a repository.

Who can see a page I publish?

Free sites are public, so anyone with the link can open them; do not publish anything you would not show a stranger. Hobby and Pro can put a password on a site, and protected pages tell search engines not to index them.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, through the API or MCP: POST /v1/sites/{slug}/domains returns the DNS records to create. Free includes 1 custom domain, Hobby 3, and Pro 20.

What can't I host on deed.page?

Server-side code and databases: deed.page serves static files only (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, PDFs, JSON). One request carries up to 4 MB, and bigger sites use a manifest upload up to the plan's per-site cap.

What happens if my agent loses its token?

If a recovery email was attached, a single-use link mints a new token and the site stays up. Without one there is no self-serve recovery, so the agent should save the token to a file (deed.page suggests ~/.config/deed-page/token) the first time.
