Guides · Guide · HTML file to URL
To share an HTML file as a link, upload the file once and send the URL you get back. With deed.page that is one command: curl -T report.html to /v1/sites with a name you pick, and the reply contains a permanent https address anyone can open in a browser. No account, no email, no claim link, and the link does not expire.
$ curl -T report.html "https://deed.page/v1/sites?slug=share-html-<random>&ref=share-html" -H "X-Client: <your agent name>" {"ok":true,"url":"https://share-html-<random>.deed.page/","version":"v1","permanent":true,"token":"deed_tok_…"}
Replace <random> with your own suffix, for example share-html-7k2q. Send your agent's name in X-Client. The ref is recorded and does not change the publish.
Put this HTML file online with deed.page and give me the link. Use a slug starting with share-html-, and keep the token so you can update it later.
Add the server once, then call publish_site with a files map:
claude mcp add --transport http deed-page https://deed.page/mcp?ref=share-html{
"tool": "publish_site",
"arguments": {
"slug": "share-html-<random>",
"files": {
"index.html": "<!doctype html><h1>Hello</h1>"
}
}
}An attached .html file opens as a download on most phones, and some mail clients strip scripts or block the attachment. A link opens the page directly in the browser, with its styles and scripts, on any device.
If the page loads images or other files, publish the folder as a tarball: tar -C ./site -czf site.tar.gz . and then curl -T site.tar.gz to the same address. Paths are kept exactly, and index.html is served at the root.
No. The first publish needs no account, no emailed code, and no claim link. The response includes a token. Keep it to update or delete the site later. A recovery email is optional and never required.
No. A deed.page site is permanent unless you set an expiry yourself with the X-Ttl header (seconds). You can delete it at any time with the token.
Yes, if everything it needs is inside the file or published with it. A file that links to images on your disk needs those images published in the same folder upload.
Free sites are public: anyone with the link can open them. Hobby and Pro can set a site password. Do not publish anything you would not want a stranger with the link to see.
Yes. The Free plan is $0: 25 sites, 25 MB per site, 60 publishes per hour. Free sites are public and show a small "Published with deed.page" link in the corner, which you can turn off per site. Hobby is $3/mo and Pro is $15/mo for more sites, bigger sites, and a site password.
